Art Unleashed

I've had 14,000 projects as of late. Last week I saw that one of my favorite artists was participating in Art Unleashed. An art benefit here in KC, where proceeds go to the Humane Society. I've participated in the past, but rushed to participate this year. I love the event and the cause. My little doggie Bink means the world to me and it makes me sad to think of all the little doggies out there that don't get the snuggles, Snausages, and love that he does.

Artiste de Monsieur, to you

Every Monday night I spend the evening being a little artist with some super awesome kids. They live in a local transitional shelter for single mothers and their children, here in the city. Tonight, as a "thinking outside the box" painting series, we all wore fake mustaches and painted our favorite animals with mustaches. At first I got some funny looks as I busted out the 'staches, but before long creativity took over and they had fun with it. Animals with mustaches were a little too out there for some of the kids. When they asked, "do I have to put a mustache on it?" I said, "nope." I'm never down to stifle one's personal vision. Just as long as I can get 'em to think a little differently, I've succeeded. Two weeks ago we learned the color wheel and how to mix our paints to create secondary colors. Tonight, I heard them discussing how to make colors...and guiding each other with what they had learned. Man, kids are great. I love Monday nights.

Snuggle cakes

I loooove baking! Well, I love baking junk just so I can decorate it. For our friend Liz's engagement party I made Snuggle Cakes. Just mini cupcakes with hand cut gum paste hearts that I watercolored with food coloring. So cute, ya wanna snuggle 'em. Yummies.

Boring Robots.

Thank goodness for great friends that reassure you that you are not a "boring robot." I have a suuuuuuuuper rad friend that always helps pep me up. So, kinda, in a way, this is an ode to awesome friends that get your back. I'd be so sad without my cheer team.
